Oklahoma City police say a suspected drunken driver crashed near Memorial Road and May Avenue late Thursday night, shearing off a gas line and sending flames shooting into the air.

Witnesses told police the driver was speeding and lost control as he tried to turn west on Memorial Road. The car rolled at least once, sheared off a high-pressure gas line and crashed into a gate surrounding FBI headquarters.

The sparks from the accident ignited the gas and spewed flames at least 20 to 30 feet high.

A witness pulled the driver from the car. He wasn't seriously injured and police arrested him at the scene.

Oklahoma Natural Gas crews shut off the gas valve about 90 minutes after the crash.
