Motorcyclist Dead After Hitting Culvert, Being Thrown 196 Feet

TIJUANA, Oklahoma -

A 22-year-old is dead after his motorcycle struck a concrete culvert on Oklahoma 28 and threw him 196 feet.

The collision happened at 9:21 p.m. Saturday in Delaware County, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

Richard Blue McElroy, of Tijuana, Okla., was pronounced dead of massive head injuries.

Troopers said McElroy's 2006 Titan motorcycle departed the roadway to the right and went 125 feet before striking the culvert.

McElroy was not wearing a helmet.
