Silver Alert Canceled After Broken Arrow Woman Found Dead

Authorities have confirmed that an elderly Broken Arrow woman, missing since Friday, has been found dead.

Family members found Winnie Rowland, 83, in her car near 131st Street and Sheridan Road between 12:30-1 p.m. Saturday.

Broken Arrow police issued a silver alert for Rowland after family reported that she was last seen at 1 p.m. Friday at her house located in the 8000 block of S. Birch Avenue in Broken Arrow.

According to police, Rowland fell earlier on Friday and was last seen driving to South Tulsa Optical before she went missing.

When issuing the alert, police said Rowland takes Coumadin, an anticoagulant, and was at risk of having a stroke.

The body is being transferred to the medical examiner's office for an official ruling on cause of death.
