It's amazing the things you get excited about as a new mom. The top of the list has to be four hours of uninterrupted sleep! Before, I never thought I'd be able to go without eight hours of sleep; but now, four hours seems like heaven!

For two nights last week things were looking up. Gage only woke up once at night. I'd get him to sleep at about 8 p.m.; he'd wake up at about 3 a.m. and then get up for good at 6:30 a.m. But as if to put me in my place for bragging that he had passed the hump of constantly waking, he has gone back to waking up twice: once at 2 a.m., then again at 4 a.m.!

I'm not quite sure what to do differently. I've tried to just rock him back to sleep, but at 4 a.m. when you have a screaming baby, it's hard to not just give him milk to get him to sleep. It's also hard to sometimes remember that he still is only 2 months old. But I've read these books that say if you follow x,y,z, your baby will be sleeping through the night by this age. It all sounds good in theory. Oh well, it can't stay like this forever - right?!
