The Oklahoma City RedHawks' streak of bad luck continued Wednesday as the Las Vegas 51s topped them 2-1 in the 10th inning, extending the RedHawks' losing streak to seven games.

Oklahoma City (17-17) was unable to generate much offense in the contest, managing just three hits. However, one of those hits was a solo home run by Fernando Martinez – his sixth long ball of the season – to take a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the seventh.

The RedHawks struggled defensively as well, finishing the game with four errors, one of which set up the tying run in the top of the ninth.

Adeiny Hechavarria led off with a single and attempted to steal second, but a throwing error put the speedster on third base with one out on the board. Travis Snyder sent a sacrifice fly to left field in the next at bad, bringing Hechavarria home and tying the game.

Las Vegas (18-16) played small ball in order to get the go-ahead run on base in the top of the tenth. Yan Gomes hit a leadoff single, advanced all the way to third on a pair of sacrifice bunts, and scored on a fielder's choice, taking the 2-1 lead.

Oklahoma City went 1-2-3 in the bottom of the ninth, ending the game.

Jerry Gil (2-0) came in as relief and picked up the win, not allowing a hit in his two innings of service, striking out two batters. Jose Valdez (0-1) picked up a loss for his work, giving up one earned run on one hit in 1.1 innings pitched.

The RedHakws will try to reverse their fortunes at 7:05 p.m. Thursday against the 51s, in the third game of the four-game series.
