OKLAHOMA CITY – For the second straight year, Oklahoma State has come away with a Bedlam series victory.

The Cowboys beat the Sooners 3-2 on Sunday at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark, taking the third game of the series after splitting the first two.

OSU, which has won 10 of its past 11, has recently moved into the Top 25 because of that accomplishment.

The Cowboys got on the board first with a single from Mark Ginther in the bottom of the third. He drove in Saulyer Saxon to give OSU a quick 1-0 lead.

Jared Womack quickly followed that up with an RBI single of his own to make it 2-0 Cowboys after three innings.

The Sooners finally got on the board in the fifth inning on fly-outs from Erik Ross and Jack Mayfield that each brought home runs to tie the game at two.

For two more innings the teams remained scoreless but OSU broke the tie in the bottom of the eighth inning with a hard-earned run.

Robbie Rea worked his way around the bases one at a time until a foul out from Randy McCurry gave Rea a chance to tag up and advance home.

The win helped the Cowboys move into a three-way tie for second place in the Big 12 standings (along with Texas and Texas A&M).

Blake Barnes picked up the win on the mound for the Cowboys, throwing 3.1 innings without allowing a run.

Steven Okert got the loss for the Sooners, throwing 5.1 innings and giving up three hits and the run in the eighth inning.

OU fell to 28-18 (10-10) in Big 12 play while the Cowboys advanced to 30-19 overall (13-8 Big 12).

The Cowboys will return home to host two games against Ohio State on May 8-9, with first pitch on Tuesday set for 6:30 p.m.

OU will start a three-game series in Norman against the Baylor Bears next weekend. Friday's first pitch is set for 6:30 p.m.
