The Oklahoma Sooners were unable to hold on to a one-run lead late, falling to the Texas Longhorns 12-5 Sunday, giving the Longhorns the win in the season series.

In the top of the sixth, trailing 5-4 with two runners on base, Taylor Hoagland homered to right field to give the Longhorns a 7-5 advantage. Lexy Bennett homered to left center in the next at-bat, giving Texas a three-run lead.

Three at-bats later, Taylor Thom singled to right field fringing Nadia Taylor home to push the lead to four runs, and Torrie Schmidt reached on a fielder's choice in the next at-bat, brining Karina Scott and Courtney Craig home to make it 11-5 in favor of Texas.

Mandy Ogle grounded out to third base, bringing Thom home and capping off the scoring for the Longhorns.

Rachel Fox (13-1) was credited with a win for the outing, giving up just one earned run on three hits in three innings of service for the Longhorns. Keilani Ricketts (26-7) picked up a loss for her work, allowing five earned runs on six hits in three innings.

Oklahoma will try to get back to its winning ways at 4 p.m. Friday in Ames, Iowa against the Iowa State Cyclones.
