A Mustang man was killed after he wrecked his pickup truck in Canadian County Saturday morning.

It happened just after 7 a.m. Saturday, on State Highway 66, about half mile west of Fort Reno Road in Canadian County.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a 2011 Ford pickup truck driven by Roberto Alvarez was eastbound on Highway 66 when it ran off the roadway to the left, and struck a fence post and bridge abutment.

Troopers say the truck then rolled over on its top and came to a rest in a creek.

Alvarez, 35,  was pinned in the vehicle for an unknown amount of time. He was pronounced dead at the scene from chest internal injuries.

Alvarez was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision, according to the OHP report.

Troopers have listed the cause of the collision as "inattentive driving." Alvarez's condition at the time of the wreck is still under investigation.
