It's one of the most anticipated movie releases of the year. "The Avengers" opened at midnight all across the country and in Tulsa at Cinemark Theatres.

Hundreds of Tulsa Avenger fans attended with many in costume.

It's the blockbuster of the summer and it's barely May. News On 6 was there at the stroke of midnight as moviegoers attended the premiere of the Avengers in Tulsa.

  • "It was fantastic, it was the complete nerd heaven. Nerd experience of a lifetime."
  • "All I have to say is whoa."
  • "We waited probably a little too long. We were here 7 hours early."
  • "I'm all about the Hulk, Wooo! Hulk, baby, Amaaazing!"
  • "3-D was pretty great, even from the front. I was in the front row on the side. It was fabulous."

If these opinions are anything like the national reaction, this film should do well at the Box Office.

USA Today says the movie has already pulled in over $280 million in 39 countries.

And even if you're not a comic book fan, this film is loaded with star power...Scarlett Johanssen, Robert Downey Junior, Samuel L Jackson, just to name a few.
