A former Oklahoma County judge and her husband have been ordered to pay the state $69,000 in restitution in connection with their guilty pleas for adoption fraud.

Garfield County District Judge Paul Woodward handed down the order Thursday to former Judge Tammy Bass-LeSure and her husband, Karlos.

The couple pleaded guilty on March 2. They were accused of giving away twin babies to Ravonda L. Edwards, the sister of the judge's bailiff, after becoming the twins' foster parents in 2008. They adopted them in 2010.

Bass-LeSure and her husband each received three-year deferred sentences and won't have criminal convictions if they satisfy all the terms of their probation. She resigned her judge's position as part of a plea agreement with prosecutors.

Her attorney didn't immediately return a call seeking comment.
