Mother Charged For Allegedly Driving Drunk With Kids In Car

Oklahoma County prosecutors have filed a child endangerment charge against a woman accused of driving drunk with her two kids in the car.

Police stopped Dana Lynn Edwards, 28, on February 15 near S.W. 65th Street and Walker. Police said there was a strong odor of alcohol in the car and the Oklahoma City mom appeared intoxicated. Investigators said Edwards was slurring her words, was unsteady on her feet and had red, watery eyes.

According to an affidavit, Edwards told police she drank three beers before getting behind the wheel. Edwards' 7-year-old daughter and 2-month-old son were in the car when police stopped her. They were not hurt.

Prosecutors have now charged Edwards with child endangerment, driving while under the influence, and speeding.
