"Our T.V.'s went off and my husband made Kailin and I sit on the step to the basement, and he was on the back porch watching, and he saw it coming, and that's when we all went down," Chandrea Alexander said.

"It sounded like windows were cracking,"  Alexander's daughter Kailin said.

The tornado damaged their home and destroyed a huge building that belonged to their landlord, and held about $1 million worth of farm equipment.

"Tornadoes just love this part of the country," said Kay Buffington, who grew up on the property.

This is not the first time she's cleaned up after a tornado here.

"It was March of '65. That's when the other one came through," Buffington recalled.

Still oddly, all this brings back some good memories too.

"I had come down to clean up but I had to go back to Wellington that evening because I had a blind date and that blind date is now my husband."

There are no reports of deaths or significant injuries because of the storm.
