I can already feel myself getting groggy.

The NFL Draft is tomorrow and, I know I'm in the minority on this but, I consider the draft the single most UNWATCHABLE EVENT IN SPORTS. It's awful. It is mind numbing. It drags ON AND ON AND ON for days on end with the same talking heads blabbing about how this guy is ___fill in the adjective here___.

It's just plain boring. I can stomach the first round some years. This year there is some interest with Justin Blackmon expected to be picked high. I am tired of hearing terms like ‘draft stock' and ‘NFL ready' and all that other garbage.

The biggest reason I don't like it… it's basically spending DAYS dissecting coin flips. MORE than half of these guys are going to be out of football in the next two years because they couldn't make the roster. Some will stick around and have okay careers. Very few will be names that you'll remember.

AND even fewer guys are players that you actually know right now! It's my job to watch football and talk to players and report from various games. I don't know everything about all of these players! And, you are lying if you say you are familiar with all of these guys waiting to be drafted. You don't. You only know about Ryan Tannehill because of the one time this year your team, either the Cowboys, Sooners or maybe Razorbacks, played Texas A&M. Remember how terrible he was in the second halves of ALL those games? Your opinion of him was based on that one Saturday and then it changed when you flipped on ESPN and heard those analysts yap about his ‘upside' and ‘potential'. We just regurgitate facts about these players that other yahoos get paid to say about them.

The same goes for every lineman in the world. What do we REALLY know about that obscure left tackle from Meatloaf State or Clown University? Nothing. And these NFL teams are just grasping at straws hoping to get lucky when the 4-7th rounds roll around. Sometimes it works out. Not always, though.

The draft is for die-hards, which I am not. Even if you are a die-hard, you can't tell me that the draft is THAT interesting. Find out who your team drafted, scratch your head because you have no idea who they are and then go back to mowing the lawn.

That's how I'll spend MY weekend.
