OKC Police Release Name Of Man Killed In Oil Rig Accident

Oklahoma City police have identified a man who died Monday night in an oil rig accident as 45-year-old Peter Cleeland.

Oklahoma City police have identified a man who died Monday night in an oil rig accident as 45-year-old Peter Cleeland.

Around 10 p.m., Cleeland was pinned beneath some machinery at a rig in the 3400 block of S.E. 59th Street. The rig is owned by New Dominion.

The crew was trying to hook up the rig when the accident happened. Co-workers freed Cleeland and performed CPR, but they weren't able to save him.

Cleeland was pronounced dead at the scene.
