A man is dead following an officer-involved shooting in northwest Oklahoma City Saturday night.

Police say they received a call around 8:30 p.m. Saturday about a disturbance at the Willow Cliff apartments, located in the 5300 block of N.W. 50th Street.

When an officer arrived, he found a man who he says was breaking out car windows.

The officer then approached the man and attempted to get him under control, according to police. He eventually had to use his Taser when the man assaulted him, but the suspect did not respond to the Taser.

Police say the officer ended up pulling his gun and shot the suspect. The man died at the scene.

"Two separate calls, same suspect, we believe that the subject is responsible for both of those calls. I know on one call at least the subject was breaking out car windows," an officer at the scene described what happened.

Neither the victim's name nor the officer's name has been released. News 9 was told the officer was treated for unknown injuries at a local hospital.

The officer has been placed on routine administrative leave.
