Wagoner police said at a Friday news conference they have identified a man they believe raped two senior citizens in Wagoner last summer.

Police say someone recognized a police sketch and the DNA database connected Earl Wayne Campbell, 46, of Enid, to the rapes. Campbell is currently in the Garfield County Jail, accused of unrelated sex crime charges involving a 15-year-old boy, according to an affadavit obtained by News On 6.

"He didn't confess, but we did get to talk to him and we felt like he made some admissions that confirmed what information we had gathered," Wagoner Police Chief Bob Haley said.

Three Wagoner women were raped in August 2011.

The first attack happened August 2, 2011. A 71-year-old woman was held at knifepoint, sexually assaulted and robbed.

The second victim, a 63-year-old woman, was robbed and raped on August 17, 2011.

A third woman, who is in her 20s, was raped on August 28, 2011. Wagoner olice ruled out Campbell as a suspect in that attack.

Wagoner police last August released a sketch of a suspect in the second attack. He had been described as a white male in his 20s or early 30s with light brown hair, cut short, between 5-foot-4 to 5-8 with a thin build. His face was covered, according to the victim.

Court records show Campbell was arraigned April 9 in Garfield County on unrelated charges of forcible sodomy, kidnapping and assault and battery with a deadly weapon.  On March 16, prosecutors added a charge of solicitation of a minor under 21.

Affadavits show the victim in the case is a 15-year-old boy.

According to documents, the offenses occurred January 20 in Garfield County and Campbell was arrested by the Enid Police Department.

His bond in the Enid case is set at $100,000 and his next court appearance is scheduled for May 14. His Garfield County trial is set to begin June 6.
