The city of Woodward will test all of its tornado sirens at noon Wednesday. The test comes after the sirens failed to sound just before a deadly tornado struck early Sunday morning.
The sirens did not go off because the storm knocked out power. The city plans to test the sirens and then repair those that are malfunctioning.
Many say the death toll from the tornado could have been higher because the sirens didn't work. Six people were killed by the twister. Weather experts warn tornado sirens are not the most reliable warning system. They urge residents to buy a NOAA weather radio.
