Oklahoma baseball has won five straight games after rallying from behind to take down Oral Roberts 6-3 Tuesday night in Tulsa.

Evan Mistich went 2-for-3 from the plate for the Sooners with two RBI and Hunter Lockwood's two run single in the top of the ninth sealed the deal for OU who is now 23-14 on the year.

ORU led the way with eight hits, but it wasn't enough as Oklahoma's defense combined with the strong arm of Dillon Overton to make up for the team's two errors en route to the victory.

The Golden Eagles didn't waste any time getting on the board. Logan Domenico leadoff with a single to left and advanced to second off a Kevin Cho groundout. Cam Schiller then singled to right to score Domenico taking the early 1-0 advantage.

ORU threatened again in the fourth, but OU's Erik Ross robbed Jose Trevino of a home run to keep the game close.

Cody Reine was the spark that got the OU bats going in the top of the fifth. Max White was walked to lead off the frame then two batters later Reine singled through to the right side moving White to second. Evan Mistich then doubled to left scoring White and Reine to take the 2-1 lead. Mistich came around to score after Garrett Carey flied out to left giving the Sooners a 3-1 lead going into the bottom of the fifth.

ORU loaded the bases with no outs in the bottom of the frame and OU elected a pitching change bringing in Dillon Overton to relieve Damien Magnifico. The Golden Eagles capitalized on the opportunity as Trevino singled to right to plate Cho and cut the Sooners lead to 3-2.

But OU only increased its lead in the eighth off a sacrifice fly by Mistich to go up 4-2.

With two on and two out in the bottom of the eighth, ORU's Bennett Pickar knocked a single through the right side to plate Trevino, but Brandon Healy popped a fly ball to center field to end the inning with the Golden Eagles still trailing 4-3.

OU then used two hits to plate two runs in the ninth and closeout the game. With two runners aboard and one out, Hunter Lockwood connected on a two run single scoring White and Mayfield. In the end, ORU found no offensive output in the final frame going three-up, three-down in its last at bat.

Mistich went 2-for-3 for the Sooners with two RBI while ORU was paced by Trevino who went 2-of-4 with one RBI.

Dillon Overton got the win for OU and is now 5-1 on the year. He pitched five innings allowing four hits and one run while striking out seven batters.

Alex Gonzales (3-3) is credited with the loss while Joe Spring the starter went three innings with two strikeouts.

Oral Roberts is back on the field Friday hosting Western Illinois at 6:30 p.m. while at the same time Oklahoma hosts a three game series against Alabama State.
