The American Red Cross shelter in Norman is moving to a new location Saturday.

The shelter will be moved from the Whittier Recreations Center to the St. Stephens United Methodist Church, located at 1802 W. Brooks, on the corner of Brooks and McGee in Norman.

Oklahoma Severe Weather: A List Of Public Shelters In The Metro

According to Rusty Surette, spokesperson for the Red Cross, the Whittier Recreation Center is now used as a public storm shelter in Norman.  City officials want to make sure that the shelter is available if severe storms move through the Norman area again Saturday evening.

An estimated 200 people took cover at the Whittier Recreation Center as additional storms moved into the metro overnight.
