OKC Residents Can Recycle Old TVs, Computers For Free

Oklahoma City is holding a large recycling event that will allow residents to safely get rid of their obsolete and broken electronics.

Oklahoma City is holding a large recycling event that will allow residents to safely get rid of their obsolete and broken electronics.

The free eCycling Drop-Off Event is scheduled for Saturday, May 5, at the State Fair Park. It begins at 8 a.m. and ends at 4 p.m. It's sponsored by Oklahoma City, Waste Management Recycle America and LG Electronics.

The city says the event is an environmentally friendly option for disposing of unwanted and old electronics. No proof of residency is required. People can simply drive up and drop off the items.

Electronic items accepted for recycling include:

  • Computers – CPUs
  • Computer monitorsComputer peripherals
  • Printers
  • Fax machines
  • Keyboards
  • Photocopiers
  • Televisions
  • VCRs
  • Stereos
  • Home and office phones
  • Cell phones
  • Consumer electronics
