Police told News 9 that a man and a woman were in the backyard of the house when a suspect came in from another yard and shot the male victim several times. OKLAHOMA CITY -

A shooting in South East Oklahoma City sent one man to the hospital and those who knew him said they do not know why he was targeted.

Police responded to the shooting on the 400 block of SE 45th St. just at 3 a.m. Sunday. When they arrived there they found one victim had been shot multiple times.

News 9 spoke with people inside the house where that shooting happened. They did not want to talk on camera, but did say the victim was still at the hospital and would undergo surgery for his wounds on Monday. They said they had no idea why the shooting happened.

Several neighbors in the area said they heard the gunshots. One neighbor said she heard eight gunshots. She said police had the street blocked off for several hours while investigators worked the scene.

Police told News 9 that a man and a woman were in the backyard of the house when a suspect came in from another yard and shot the male victim several times. They said he was shot five times. They said two people were taken into custody after the shooting.
