OKLAHOMA CITY - The first Bedlam softball showdown of the season is in the books as Oklahoma shutout Oklahoma State 4-0 Wednesday night in Oklahoma City.

Another strong night inside the circle for OU star Keilani Ricketts helped Oklahoma take the 71-70 series lead and moved the Sooners to 27-4 on the season while the Cowgirls fall to 16-13.

OU scored three runs all thanks to leadoff walks. The Sooners began the scoring in the first after Oklahoma State starter Kat Espinosa allowed Destinee Martinez a free ride, then Lauren Chamberlain stepped to the plate an managed a bases-loaded single to go up 1-0.

In the second, Oklahoma tacked on another run as once again a leadoff walk to Katie Norris put one aboard, then two batters later Jessica Shults sent a single to center and pinch runner Jessica Vest scored giving OU the 2-0 advantage.

After another leadoff walk came around in the third to go up 3-0, OU's Javen Henson added the Sooners final run in the bottom the sixth off sending a homerun to left-center for the 4-0 win.

Oklahoma had seven hits to OSU's one while leaving seven on base to OSU's three.

Ricketts moved to 15-4 on the year as she pitched her fourth one hitter of the season and struck out 10.

Kat Espinosa took the loss for Oklahoma State and is now 9-6 on the season. Espinosa gave up seven Oklahoma hits while walking three and striking out five.
