EDMOND, Oklahoma - A homeowner fought off an attacker, then opened fire on two suspects after he says they broke into his home overnight.

It happened early Tuesday morning in the exclusive Oak Tree neighborhood in Edmond.

The victims' home backs up to Kelly. Houston Hill says he thinks the suspects may have gotten into the gated community through a culvert that runs underneath Kelly.

Then Hill says the two men with guns took advantage of an open patio door.

Hill says his roommate Sydney Laughlin was sitting in the room around 4 a.m. when the two suspects burst in, hit, then tied up Sydney.

"When Syd hit the ground, and he said, 'are you going to kill me? Are you going to kill me?'" said Hill.

Hill says one of the men then went back to the bedroom where Hill was sleeping.

"This guy was standing over me with a baseball hat and a 45 or big caliber gun. ‘Don't move be quiet. Or I'll blow your head off,'" Hill recalls his attacker saying.

But Hill managed to fight the man off.

"When he started coming toward me I kicked him in the chest," Hill said.

The two men struggled before Hill managed to hide on his deck.

"Then all of a sudden he comes out, he looks for me, he doesn't see me and he runs back and he runs out of the house, and as soon as he runs out of the house, I see him and this other guy running across my yard," Hill said.

Hill says he then grabbed his gun and fired a couple shots. Both he and his roommate are okay.

Police are still looking for the suspects.
