Edmond police are searching for two men who broke into a house in a gated community early Tuesday morning.

The home invasion happened around 4 a.m. in the Oaktree subdivision, a neighborhood with 24-hour security near Sorghum Mill Road and Kelly.

Police say two men -- 59-year-old Houston Hill and 60-year-old Sidney Laughlin -- were in their house in the 900 block of Oaktree Drive when two men came in through an open sliding glass door.

One of the residents was watching television at the time. The intruders held him at gunpoint and duct taped him. They were ransacking the home when the second resident confronted them.

The victim grabbed his gun and chased the home invaders out of the house.

"As they were running out the patio door that they came in through, the homeowner was able to retrieve his gun and fire several shots at the suspects," Edmond police spokesperson Glynda Chu said.

Neither of the suspects was hit by gunfire. Officers briefly shut down the neighborhood and searched for the suspects but couldn't find them.

Neither of the residents was hurt.
