The pharmacies in Reasor's grocery stores are proving some things in life are free.

As healthcare costs rise, pharmacies are looking for ways to help ease the burden of high prescription prices.

But one pharmacy group, in particular, is literally giving away prescription medications to their customers.

"For them it's kind of unbelievable that somebody could actually provide something to them for free," said Reasor's Pharmacist Andy Becker.

For three years now, Reasor's has been picking up the check on a handful of antibiotics and vitamins.

"It's a 10-day supply of the most commonly prescribed antibiotics for free to everyone," Becker said.

It's free to everyone, expect Reasor's. The company is footing the bill completely. It's a plan that gives back to the community, while bringing in new business.

"Even if they don't have future healthcare needs to bring them back, we get the opportunity to showcase our grocery stores," Becker said.

And that idea is working. Lori Fleeming and her family have been taking advantage of free deals - ever since they saw a flyer at the pharmacy.

"We come here every two weeks and it says free antibiotic prescriptions, so that's why we came back here," Fleeming said.

For Lori's family, the program has helped make ends meet.

"We get our antibiotics here because it's free, it's great because you can't get that free anywhere else," she said.

Though, no other pharmacies in the area are giving away free medication, some are giving consumers cost-cutting options.

CVS, Walgreens and Walmart all offer prescription savings plans for hundreds of generic drugs.

There is no fine print to the program. Just that all the medications require a doctor's prescription.
