A man accused of lighting Molotov cocktails outside the office of a Texas lawmaker is also wanted out of Tulsa.

Cedric Steele is in jail in Fort Worth on an arson charge after police say he tossed a paper bag filled with six Molotov cocktails against the door of Texas State Senator Wendy Davis' office Tuesday.

Davis was not in the office at the time, but two of her staff members were inside.

"We had a staffer hear a loud thud outside of our third floor office door. Shortly thereafter, the fire alarm went off. She noticed the smell and opened the door and there were about waist-high flames blocking the exit to our office," said Anthony Spangler, Davis staff member.

A staff member put the flames out with a fire extinguisher and no one was injured. Steele, who is homeless, was arrested late Tuesday and is wanted for another attack in Tulsa.

Court records show Steele is accused of beating up his mother at her apartment near 61st and South Lewis in October 2005.

Bonnie Simpson told investigators her son threw her against a wall, pushed her to the floor, then hit and kicked her in the arms, back, head and ribs.

When she called 911, Steele allegedly grabbed the phone and hung up as the dispatcher listened. Simpson broke her arm during the attack.

The Texas lawmaker Steele allegedly targeted called for civility after the Fort Worth firebombs.

"It's a sad, but true fact of public service that we have to feel concern sometimes for our public safety," Davis said.

On top of the Tulsa County warrants for aggravated assault and battery and interrupting an emergency call, Steele has convictions for assault and battery and breaking and entering.

He also has four convictions in Dallas County, including one for assaulting a family member.
