Oklahoma City police arrested two men for assaulting several people during an apparent home invasion.

Police said the men kicked in a door near Southeast 29th Street and Shields Boulevard Friday night. The suspects demanded money from the homeowner who had worked on one of the suspects' cars.

"The man immediately told his wife and children to run to a back bedroom so they would be safe, and he ultimately ended up being assaulted by these two suspects. He was choked, he was cut with a knife. Fortunately he did not sustain any serious injuries," said Sgt. Jennifer Wardlow with the Oklahoma City Police Department.

Officers later arrested Chad Childers and Kenton Hunt. Childers has an extensive criminal history.

Both men are being held in the Oklahoma County jail.
