EDMOND, Oklahoma -

Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred outside an Edmond restaurant on Tuesday. One man was shot.

It happened outside of the Los Arcos Mexican Restaurant near 2nd Street and Bryant Avenue around 11:40 a.m. when officers responded to a shots fired call.

According to police, upon arrival, they saw a man walking outside of the restaurant carrying a gun. Police say the man refused to drop the gun, then pointed the weapon at one of the officers. That's when the officer shot the suspect in the stomach.

The suspect was transported to Presbyterian Hospital in critical condition.
