STILLWATER, Oklahoma – OSU pitcher Kat Espinosa threw her second no-hitter of the season on Friday as the Cowgirls edged past Nebraska 2-0 and Loyola (Chicago) 4-3.

The games were part of the first day of the Mizuno Classic at Cowgirl Stadium in Stillwater.

Oklahoma State's second game of the day was the most noteworthy as it took on the Cornhuskers and Espinosa was just one walk short of a perfect game.

OSU was only able to score in the third inning, but that was all it would take. Tamara Brown came through with an RBI single and Julie Ward hit into a fielder's choice to drive in two runs.

In the Cowgirls' first game of the day, they had to come from behind to top Loyola 4-3.

OSU trailed by three runs for the entire game until the seventh inning, where it was able to rally back thanks to several errors.

The game went into extra innings and Gessenia DeLaCruz was able to move over to third base on a passed ball, eventually scoring thanks to a groundout from Kelsey Anchors.

The Cowgirls held the Ramblers scoreless in the bottom of the eighth to seal the victory.

Simone Freeman got her fourth win of the year, throwing seven hitless innings in the game. She struck out 10 batters and walked three.

OSU's games on Saturday have been moved forward because of impending weather. The Cowgirls will take on UAPB at Noon.
