LUTHER, Oklahoma -

The funeral for a Remington Park maintenance worker who was killed on the job was held today in Luther.

Michael Priddy, 24, died Sunday night, March 4, from the injuries he suffered in an accident at the race track that afternoon.

According to park officials, Priddy was about 300 yards behind the starting gate when one of the horses from Race 4 bolted from the starting gate. The horse ran toward the track gate that leads to the barn area. Priddy had just closed the gate and was trying to prevent the horse from escaping the track when he was hit by the gate as the horse crashed through it.

His family held the funeral at the Luther school auditorium today at 2 p.m.
