I am getting very tired of the phrase, "EYE TEST". What the heck does that mean? What is that!? I tell you what, I think it's a hoax. Such a test cannot possibly exist. Think about it.

The "EYE TEST", according to the way the phrase is most often used, is the ability to tell whether or not a team is worthy of a certain level of achievement by simply watching the team play. It's used a lot during BCS bowl season in college football and has been used TO DEATH this week to describe teams that are considered ‘bubble' teams in the NCAA hoops world.

I am tired of hearing, "Does ___enter team name here___ pass the "EYE TEST"?"

Think about it. It's asking you your opinion. My opinion, and subsequently my EYES, is different than your opinion/EYES. How can a team pass the EYE TEST when there is no set parameter for what constitutes passing or failing a test like the EYE TEST.

I think ORU is worthy of a big to the NCAA tournament. Does that mean they pass my EYE TEST? You may not think that they are good enough. We both watched them play. You think one thing. I think another. So they essentially PASS the EYE TEST for one person and not the other.

That solves NOTHING. Stop referring to the EYE TEST. 1) It's not a real thing and, 2) it makes me mad.

We have RPI and RESULTS of games for a reason. Don't put teams in the tournament that are undeserving of a berth YET pass your EYE TEST, when there are plenty of worthy teams, like ORU, that proved themselves on the court all year.

Be smart.
