Silver Alert Canceled, Missing Norman Couple Found Safe

Norman police have canceled a silver alert for an elderly couple who was reported missing Tuesday afternoon. Marvin and Dorothy McElrath have been found safe in Purcell.

Norman police have canceled a silver alert for an elderly couple who was reported missing Tuesday afternoon. Marvin and Dorothy McElrath have been found safe in Purcell.

The couple was reported missing after they left their house, located in the 100 block of Red Rock Road in east Norman, at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Police said both Marvin and Dorothy McElrath suffer from several medical conditions, including Alzheimer's. They did not take their medications with them.

Marvin McElrath, 88, is described as a white male with gray hair. He stand 5 feet 10 inches tall, and weighs 170 pounds. He was wearing dark blue slacks, a striped or checkered shirt, and black leather coat.

Dorothy McElrath, 79, was last seen wearing blue pants with white strips, a red t-shirt, a blue jean coat, and gold rim glasses.

The couple was driving a 2011 black Chevrolet Silverado extended cab truck with an Oklahoma license plate 056HDN.

Police said Marvin McElrath made a comment that he was going to "wrap the truck around a tree killing all of them."
