A Guthrie, Oklahoma man was killed early Sunday morning after being struck by a pickup truck on Interstate 40 in Oklahoma City.
It happened at 2:25 a.m. Sunday on the westbound lanes of I-40 near Portland Avenue in Oklahoma City.
Troopers said 60-year-old Tommy Kammerzell was walking across the westbound lanes of I-40 when he was struck by a 1999 Chevrolet pickup driven by 36-year-old Jeremiah Lynn Watts.
The pickup was entering I-40 westbound from the I-44 southbound ramp at the time of the crash, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Kammerzell was pronounced dead at the scene due to head, internal and external trunk injuries.
Watts was not injured.
The cause of the collision is listed as "pedestrian actions" by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
I-40 northbound near I-44 was closed while troopers and Oklahoma City police investigated the scene.
