A Red Flag warning is in effect for much of the state Thursday due to an extremely high risk of wildfires.
News 9 Meteorologist Jed Castles said Oklahoma will see the most extreme wildfire threat of the season due to strong winds, high temperatures and low humidity.
"If a fire were to start, it's going to spread very, very quickly," Jed said.
On its website, the Oklahoma Forestry Service urged Oklahomans to avoid doing anything that may spark a wildfire, such as throwing cigarette butts out of car windows or burning trash.
