Some Oklahoma teens are stomping their way to national fame.

Edmond Santa Fe stomp team captain Bryanna Mitchell couldn't imagine a performance without her extended dance family.

"We're like family," Mitchell said."  "These are my little sisters."

Edmond Santa Fe's stomp team was started in 1996, with coach Richard Bean coming on board just five years ago.

"It's very easy to start a stomp team, it's very hard to keep one together," said Bean.  "You're dealing with a lot of dynamic personalities."

Those personalities have gotten national attention, though.  Santa Fe's stomp team has been offered an appearance on BET's 106th and Park show in the next month or two.  That means a trip to New York City for about half of the team.

"I'm gonna see everything, that's my mission," said Mitchell.

But it won't be that easy.  The cost to take the dozen or so members and bring them back home is about $12,000.

"We're very far away from that goal," said Bean.  "Our biggest fundraiser has been our stomp show, and that happens in January.  Even though we did the best we've ever done money-wise, it would only take care of a portion of maybe two or three different girls."

And the team hasn't gotten a firm date from BET yet on their appearance.  That's made for some uncertainty with fundraising.

Still, the team plans on staying positive and keeping sharp for their national debut.  The squad wants to show Oklahoma's stomp skills to the rest of the country.

"We just love to entertain," said Mitchell.
