MEDFORD, Oklahoma -

A propane leak near Medford has shut down two highways and forced the the evacuation of the ONEOK plant.

Shortly after the leak, Highway 81 that runs into town was shut down. The ONEOK Plant also was evacuated. Nearby residents were notified of the problem.

Officials said the propane isn't spewing as much as they had first thought, so residents will not be evacuated Wednesday night. However, the Red Cross is on scene in case the situation changes.

Highway 81 just two miles south of Medford remains closed. No injuries are reported.
