Heart Condition Keeps Frank Alexander From Combine
INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana - Former Oklahoma defensive end Frank Alexander was held out of combine workouts Tuesday, due to a heart condition of which he was previously unaware, according to his personal Twitter account.
At 9 p.m. Monday, Alexander tweeted "Headed back to Florida! Had a good week at the combine," and when asked about his results by a fan responded "I didn't get to perform" "I had a heart condition I didn't know abt [sic]."
Alexander had been projected to be a late-round pick, but contributed for four years for the Sooners, even starting in five games his freshman season. After a further evaluation and possible treatment, Alexander could still compete at the Sooners' Pro Day on March 14.
The NFL Draft will begin Friday, April 26 and run through Saturday April 28 at Radio City Music Hall in New York.
