The body of 15-month-old Emma Beth Warmberodt was found at a house in the 300 block of Cherokee Avenue in Dewey. Warmberodt was on the porch with no pulse when paramedics arrived, according to Dewey police.
The medical examiner has ruled Warmberodt's death a homicide. She had trauma to the chest and multiple bruises to her head.
A law enforcement source said based on the girl's injuries, she may have suffered three-days-worth of abuse leading up to her death.
That source also said Warmberodt's welfare came to the attention of DHS and the DA around this time last year, but no charges were filed and the baby was not removed from the home.
Agents conducted a crime scene investigation at the home where Warmberodt and her parents lived. No arrest has been made at this time and the case is still under investigation.
