The Oklahoma Sooners' up-and-down season continued Saturday, falling to rival Texas Longhorns 87-62, due to a poor shooting performance and having nearly double the turnovers as the Longhorns.

Oklahoma managed to hit just 21 of their 62 shots from the floor with just two players scoring in double-digits, Whitney Hand with 13 points and 13 boards and 11 from Morgan Hook. The turnover bug bit the Sooners hard as well, giving the ball up 25 times, seven by Hook and six by DaShawn Harden.

The Longhorns got a big performance from sophomore guard Chassidy Fussell, who scored 30 points, grabbed seven rebounds and four assists. Ashleigh Fontenette contributed 18 points, seven boards, three assists and two steals.

The Sooners trailed by just two points with seven minutes left to play in the first half, but the Longhorns poured it in to close out the half. In the closing seven, Texas outscored the Sooners 15-5 – including nine from behind the arc by Fussell – to take a 35-23 lead at halftime.

On the other side of the break, Texas continued its scoring barrage to take a 41-23 lead, capped off by four consecutive points from Fontenette to take a commanding lead and cruised to the victory.

Oklahoma will try to get back on the right track in their final road game of the season against the Texas Tech Red Raiders at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
