2 Shot, 1 In Face Over Love Triangle Dispute

Police say two people were shot during a domestic dispute Thursday in northeast Oklahoma City. Police say two people were shot during a domestic dispute Thursday in northeast Oklahoma City.

A man was rushed to the hospital Thursday after being shot in the face. News 9 learned late Thursday that he was not the only victim.

It all happened at an apartment complex near N.E. 39th Street and Hiwassee in Oklahoma City. Neighbors say it was a dramatic scene that attracted quite a bit of attention.

"He was just laying out on the porch with a bullet sticking out of his eye," witness and neighbor Hennessey Scott said.

Police say it was a domestic dispute over a relationship that almost turned deadly.

"The males got extremely agitated and ended up shooting the other suspect in the face with a shotgun," Sgt. Keith Cornman of the Oklahoma City police department said.

The first victim received buckshot to the face. The second victim was hit in the leg.

"Both suspects received nonlife threatening injuries," Corman said. "One went by EMSA to the hospital."

Investigators say Willie Stewart pulled the trigger. Police say the victim who was shot in the face was able to walk away from the scene to call police. During that time, police say, Stewart shot a relative of the victim in the leg during an argument over the first shooting.

Police say this incident is not the first time they have responded to a shooting at the complex. But, regardless, neighbors say they are still surprised.

"[Stewart was] cool until now," Scott said. "He shot everybody's closest friend out here in the eye."

Police believe the suspect and two victims are all related. Stewart is now in jail on two counts of shooting with intent to kill. Police say the man shot in the leg just suffered a flesh wound and did not go to the hospital.
