Rogers County Investigators Seek Answers In Dragging Death

Investigators say they simply have more questions than answers after a woman was found dragged to her death in Rogers County Sunday evening.

Jana Graves, 45, was found dead on 136th Street North and 147th East Avenue near a home east of Collinsville.

Rogers County authorities say Graves was dragged underneath a trailer that was being towed by a truck driven by her husband. There has been no arrest in the case.

"It's more than unusual, it's more than unique as far as a set of circumstances," said Sheriff Scott Walton/Rogers County

Rogers County Sheriff Scott Walton says the Graves got into an argument inside a home they were visiting and Jana Graves went outside. Her husband followed shortly after.

He got into his pickup truck that was carrying a trailer with a tractor on it, left the driveway, and drove down the street.

Sheriff Walton says Jana Graves ended up under the trailer and was dragged down the street to the intersection.

"We're trying to literally find out where it started, where it stopped," Walton said.

The question now for investigators is how did she get stuck underneath the trailer? Was she hiding from her husband when he drove away or did he intentionally hit her and drive off?

"It's the most difficult question to answer right now and we can't accurately answer it at this point...how much he knew or didn't know," Walton said.

Sheriff Walton says Graves' husband was pulled over by Oklahoma Highway Patrol near his home in Payne County.

He has not been arrested and he is not in custody but investigators have questioned him. The residents of the home in Rogers County declined to speak with News On 6.

"Our goal at this time is to slow things down and be slow, methodical, and more accurate in the investigation and make sure that we're not missing something," Walton said.
