Portrait Of Nation's 12th President Unveiled At State Capitol

OKLAHOMA CITY -

The portrait of former U.S. President Zachary Taylor was unveiled in the State Capitol building in Oklahoma City Tuesday morning.

The painting of the 12th U.S. president was painted by Oklahoma artist Mike Wimmer.

It is a gift from former state representative Larry Rice and his wife, Peggy.

Rice is now president of Rogers State University in Claremore.

President Taylor served in the U.S. Army and was stationed for a time at Fort Gibson in Muskogee County.
