Road Conditions Deteriorating In Northwestern Oklahoma

Posted: Updated:

Road Conditions Update - February 12, 2012 – 9 p.m. update

ODOT crews in western parts of the Oklahoma City metro area are applying sand and salt to roadways and bridges as light snow begins to move into the area. Drivers are asked to drive with caution as slick spots are anticipated overnight as winter precipitation moves across the state.

Crews in western Oklahoma continue to report slick and hazardous road conditions and are applying sand and salt to roadways and bridges and plowing areas of snow accumulation.

In the remainder of the state, crews continue to monitor changing conditions and will begin applying sand and salt to roadways and bridges as needed.

Drivers statewide are advised to stay cautious as temperatures are expected to decrease overnight and into the early morning hours. Morning commuters should plan for additional travel time and be alert for slick spots, especially on bridges and overpasses.
