NORMAN, Oklahoma -

The Oklahoma women were able to build a big lead in the first half and hold off a late push from the Missouri Tigers Saturday to come out with a 64-60 win, their eighth conference win of the season.

Oklahoma trailed 5-4 just three minutes into the game, but quickly responded and snapped off a 14-5 run, sparked by a three-pointer from Joanaa McFarland, to take an eight-point lead with nine minutes left to play in the first half.

The lead would balloon to 11 point shortly after, but the Tigers battled back and closed it to a five point lead with 38 seconds left to play. However, DeShawn Harden knocked down a buzzer-beating jumper to close the half, putting the Sooners up 33-26 heading into the locker room.

OU continued to build its lead in the opening minutes of the second half, doubling up on Missouri in the first five minutes of the second half to enjoy a 45-32 lead.

Four minutes later, the Tigers began to chip into the lead and brought it down to 11 points. That's when Missouri made its first legitimate threat of the second half. Over the next seven minutes, the Tigers outscored the Sooners 20-8 – sparked by back-to-back three-pointers from Morgan Eye –to close the gap to 58-57 with just 3:27 left on the clock.

However, the Sooners managed to match the Tigers basket-for-basket to close the game and secure the win.

BreAnna Brock finished with a double-double for Missouri, including a game-high 20 points and 10 boards in the loss. Christina Flores added 14 points for the Tigers, but was the only other Missouri players to score more than eight points.

Whitney Hand set the pace for Oklahoma, scoring 17 points, grabbing five rebounds and dishing out four assists, while Morgan Hook contributed 12 points and four assists.

The Sooners will be back in action at 8 p.m. Monday for a non-conference matchup against UConn at home, going for win No. 17 on the season.
