Gas Leak Closes Part Of N.W. 63rd Street Near Chesapeake

OKLAHOMA CITY -

A piece of construction equipment hit a gas line near Chesapeake Energy in northwest Oklahoma City, causing a natural gas leak and leading to a brief building evacuation.

The accident happened around 1:30 p.m. near N.W. 63rd Street and Classen. The equipment struck a twp-inch natural gas line. Police shut down N.W. 63rd between Classen and Western while crews repaired the leak, but the road reopened just before 2:30 p.m.

One building was evacuated for several minutes as a precaution, but no one was in danger.
