The White House has set off a firestorm of controversy with President Obama's new policy on birth control.

The Department of Health and Human Services has issued a rule requiring faith-based employers, like church-sponsored universities or hospitals, to include birth control and other reproductive services in their health care coverage.

Some church leaders are ready to go to war over this one.

The Catholic church, which has a tradition of opposing artificial birth control, took up arms against the Obama administration first and other denominations are lining up with them now.

Under Obama's health care plan, a Catholic university would be required to provide health insurance for its employees that includes free birth control.

That is completely against what the Catholic faith teaches.

It's wrong to force it on them. It's an incredible overreach on the administration's part.

They weighed birth control against religious freedom, and decided birth control was more important.

Allowing this to stand could open the door to all kinds of abuses down the road.
