LEXINGTON, Oklahoma -

Jason Orr resigned as Lexington City Manager Monday night during a city council meeting, nearly two weeks after police arrested him on a complaint of domestic assault.

Orr's resignation will be effective Friday, February 10. He will remain on paid administrative leave until that time.

Police arrested Orr on January 28. According to Cleveland County court papers, he grabbed his wife and shoved her during an argument.

Orr has been in office less than a month. A special meeting will be held Tuesday, February 14, to find a replacement.
