Northbound I-44 Near Newcastle Reopens After Semi-Truck Accident

NEWCASTLE, Oklahoma -

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol has reopened the northbound lanes of the H.E. Bailey Turnpike near Newcastle after a semi-truck jackknifed on the highway.

Troopers reported around 11:40 a.m. that a truck driver hauling a trailer lost control. His semi ended up sitting on the center wall.

Crews cleaned up the accident and reopened the turnpike around 1 p.m.

It's not known yet what caused the accident or if anyone was hurt.
