The Oklahoma State University football team added a handful of new names to the roster as 24 student-athletes signed national letters of intent.

"We've got a great recruiting class. Our administrative and recruiting staff did very well in bringing this group in," said OSU head coach Mike Gundy. "This class is really balanced and we look forward to getting everybody in here."

The list of signees includes five Oklahomans as well as newcomers from Arizona, Georgia, Kansas, Missouri, Texas and California.

The Oklahoma natives include Calvin Barnett from Tulsa Washington who comes to the Cowboys from Navarro Community College, Wagoner's Kevin Peterson, Stillwater's Jesse Vester, Madill's Caleb Muncreif and Broken Arrow's Zac Veatch.

The Cowboys also got two late signing day additions in four star recruit Seth Jacobs and Austin Hays. Jacobs decided late Wednesday night to go with OSU over Arkansas and Colorado.

"We've had a lot of good fortune with Oklahoma players in recent years," said Gundy. "This group should fall right in line with that."

The Cowboys added four members to the football squad at mid-year with the arrival of junior college players Blake Jackson (tight end) and Barnett (defensive tackle), along with high school enrollees Wes Lunt (quarterback) and linebacker Jeremiah Tshimanga.

"There's a lot of talent in this class," Gundy said. "The guys who work hard and are dedicated to Oklahoma State every day are the ones who will give you a great opportunity to have success."

The Cowboys begin spring practice Wednesday, March 7 and will wrap it up with the annual Spring game on April 16.
