Piedmont Police Seek Man Who Led Them On Chase, Escaped

Police in Piedmont are looking for a man who led them on a chase and then later escaped from the hospital.

Police pulled Kevin McCage over Saturday for a broken headlight, but when police discovered he was using a fake ID, McCage took off.

At least three officers chased him and one tried to block him on a rural road. Officers said that's when McCage tried to run over an officer who then fired a shot. McCage was not hit. Police said McCade eventually rolled his truck multiple times and was thrown out.

McCage was flown to the hospital in critical condition after he was ejected from his truck. Police said while at the hospital, McCage simply walked out.
